An Act of God (Key Art Development)
Strategy
Art explorations for the 90-minute comedy written by multiple Emmy award-winning David Javerbaum. The original God was played by Jim Parsons but was followed by Sean Hayes and toured outside of Broadway. Key art would serve as the foundation for promotional materials like outdoor signage, direct mailings, and motion graphics.
Approach
Unlike a lot of other creative development shown, we started with a show-specific photoshoot to form art after the fact. Having a locked in photo meant we had a certain style and to a large extent feel or look. My approach was to further craft the art into something that was representative of the show but pushes the star. Ultimately we had a good system and flexible art to make new actors stepping in easier.
